Elliott
has been working continually in radio for over fifteen years
and is currently the Breakfast Show host for the GCAP Media owned
BRMB in Birmingham. Prior to this he presented several other
flagship breakfast shows around the UK including Galaxy in Bristol
for Chrysalis Radio and The Pulse of West Yorkshire for the Metro
Radio Group.
Notoriety came Elliott’s way in 1999 when he
presented the “blind wedding” contest “Two
Strangers and a Wedding” where couples competed to win
the chance to marry a complete stranger. Carla and Greg ‘won’ and
tied the knot having met only minutes before. The contest caused
a sensation and was the subject of two ITV documentaries and
acres of press coverage. Despite the failure of this marriage
Elliott hosted the sequel in 2006, unfortunately with a similar
outcome. Hopefully he is a better broadcaster than matchmaker!
Elliott
has also covered presenting duties for the national chart show “Hit
40 UK”, the networked weekly entertainment
show “Seven” and the Capital FM weekend Breakfast
Show. Other highlights include interviewing the Prime Minister
Tony Blair, winning silver and bronze at the prestigious New
York Radio Awards in 2005 and stitching up X-Factor’s Louis
Walsh in a prank call with Westlife. This ‘Phone Tap’ as
they were called also won recognition with a GCAP Media award
in 2005.
